We enjoyed a Parker Family vacation in Carlsbad, California at the end of April. We were blessed with lots of sunshine and nice weather, fun days at the beach, time with cousins, and saw lots and lots of whales! It was fun to reminisce with Scottie about all his childhood memories of this place and we tried our best to start forming those memories for Madison this year. Madison loved the ocean as usual and we spent hours everyday playing in the waves, sand, and sunshine.
Making the drive down to Cali. I strategically wrapped little gifts for Madison for every few hours of driving to help keep her happy and entertained in the car. Here she is with the first one, she was super excited:)
The ocean and Madison are good for the soul!!! My mantra for life:)
This little beach bum was literally in paradise with all the sand! We avoid the sand park in our neighborhood because it's too messy, so she was super excited she had permission to play with it all, and believe me she did! Bath time was epic...
Madison, Beckham, and Savannah are the three little amigos for sure:)
We made Elsa's ice castle and Arendale sand castles
The whole crew at the Pizza Port for dinner
Family pic on the beach. My favorite part of the beach was watching Madison chase a wave out and then quickly turning around and running as it "chased" her back. I can still hear her squeals of delight:)
Ruby's for breakfast on the pier. A fun family tradition. We saw the coolest whales swimming and splashing here.
Beach day with my cousin Rachel, her fiance Kris, and son Axel. Madison loved playing with Axel.
Oh the sunsets, how we ALL LOVED YOU!
Every night we watched the sun "go to sleep in the ocean," this little girl loved it, AND
I love you Scottie Jay and you know why;)
Grandma Tracy is the coolest and orchestrated an official pirate hunt for all the kids
Madison enjoyed finding all the clues, but especially liked finding the buried treasure!
San Diego Zoo! The Parkers treated us all to a day at the world famous zoo.
The pandas were my favorite part and Scottie and Maddie liked the rhinos the best.
Madison attempting to push Parker around
Family pics at the zoo
Jenny and I riding some waves!
Our last full day included lots of boogie boarding, and playing on the beach.
We are so grateful to Rich and Tracy who have made and continue to make so many sacrifices to make fun Carlsbad trips for their children and grandchildren. Oh Carlsbad how we miss your carefree and lazy days on the beach, and endless hours of time with our Scottie, who is now back at the grind of work.
