Halloween Weekend

Happy Halloween from the Fire Hydrant and the Dog!

We had a great Halloween Weekend full of lots of fun, and fortunately I had the camera to document it all! Friday night our ward had the best Halloween party, and Scottie and I got to hand out candy to the trick or treaters again this year.

Say Trick or Treat!!!

Once again there were great costumes this year! Jacob was the cutest train conductor I have ever seen!

The McKeans-as a double rainbow...it's a current YouTube sensation

Caroline as the Cute Carebear

Having too much fun!!!!!!!!

Saturday- I am getting paid the big bucks:) to help admissions with our interview events. All the candidates were impressive, the day ran smoothly, and was actually a lot of fun too! Here is a pic of Ally and me all glamored up...notice our walkie talkies!

Us with the WOMAN who makes it all HAPPEN! Really!

Sarah, Me, Ally

After the event on Saturday Scottie and I decided to take advantage of the warmer weather and go golfing! It was so much fun and the fall leaves were so beautiful (they did make finding our golf balls difficult though. Despite the difficulty I never lost my ball and played with the same one the entire round. I was super proud of myself!)

US in ACTION!!! Good form:)

I love golfing with Scottie, we seem to have some of the best conversations when we are out there!

Our NEW BBQ! Scottie found this bad boy on craigslist for $5 dollars!!!

Yes this is how we jimmy rigged it to get it home-believe it or not, the BBQ didn't budge the whole way home:)

What a great Halloween weekend we had:)

Kelsey's Wedding

Coming out of the temple as Mr. and Mrs. Ryder

Here is the beautiful Kelsey!!! I love how excited the boys were to see her:) Parker looks like he is ready to burst!

Bills, Jenny, Me-the bridesmaids

Scottie and I took some pictures together before they came out-this was my favorite one

US with Corbin and Parker, our cute nephews

Corbin totally has me wrapped around his little finger. He was my cuddle buddy the whole time we were in Utah and told me his favorite part about me was my voice! Too cute.
Kelsey's luncheon and reception was held at the Canterbury Reception Hall, and boy oh boy was it beautiful!

Kelsey wanted a brownie cake....yummy!

The happy new couple!

Me, Jenny, Kels! We each wore this same veil at our weddings!!!

Us with our little sister

Congrats Kelsey and Johnny we are so excited for you to start your married life together! Thanks Parkers for helping us get out to Utah and for making it such a fun trip for us:)
My Girls!!! (Anne missed the pic)

While we were in Utah I was able to fit in a quick girl's night out with my wonderful Roomies (the ones still in Utah)! I love being able to come back to Utah and see them. When we get together it's like we never have been apart, and we have way too much fun reminiscing and making more memories....like this picture here....it took us several tries to get one because we couldn't stop laughing at the fact that we were touching each others legs!!! Whether we live in Alaska, CT, Illinois,Texas.... or wherever else you may be I hope we always stay in touch!

I also was able to spend sometime with my Grandma and Aunt Julie

Sleepover! The Parker kids had a sleep over at Jenny's house. It was so much fun and felt like Christmas Eve (a tradition).

This is how I found Scottie after the girls (below) had their late night girls talk...notice his shoes are still on!

We loved being in Utah and spending time with our families and friends! We miss you all already.

NYC and Boston

Scottie had a one week break at the end of August from his 3rd year rotations so we decided to take a road tip with some friends! Our destinations included New York City and Boston, plus lots of cool places in between.

Stop 1: Scranton, PA (The Electric City) on our way to NYC. As you probably know, Scranton is the home of everyone's favorite tv show The Office. Scottie and I taught Brianna and Justin the Electric City Rap (song by Micheal Scott and Dwight) while we were there LOL.

Stop 2: New York, New York! NYC is truly amazing and the city seriously never sleeps!!! There is always something fun going on. Us at Times Square, right in front of where they drop the New Year's count down ball.

Ellen's Stardusk Diner

Scottie took me to this adorable 50s diner to celebrate my birthday. The waiters/waitresses perform during your meal. This is me with our waiter...he is singing his little heart out if you can't tell.

This is how I feel about NYC. I heart it!!!!!!!!

Central Park. We spent 4+ hours here, and loved every second of our time there. I seriously couldn't believe how big the park is! Skyline.

The Manhattan Temple

The US Tennis Open

Going to the US Tennis Open was a highlight of the trip for us. We loved getting to see some of our favorite players in person.

Center Court for the Andy Roddick match.

Nadal!!!!!!!

Scottie looked over at me and this is what he saw! I was trying to keep cool with wet paper towels. Hot times, call for desperate measures.

Mr. Williams (top)! Scottie and I both shook his hand! (below) Venus Williams.

Me spying on Venus!!!

The Statue of Liberty

Ellis Island

Stop 3: After spending 4 days in New York, we headed out to Boston! We loaded up in the Wheeler's car and headed North towards Cape Cod, via Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Next stop: Plymouth.

The Mayflower
Stop 4: New England

Follow the yellow brick road...follow, follow, follow (Tune fr. Wizard of Oz) or should I say the red brick road! While in Boston we spent sometime on the Freedom trial, which marks several historical sites.

Samuel Adam's grave, we also saw Paul Revere, and John Hancock's graves too. Way cool! The history teacher in me was going crazy!

The USS Constitution. The oldest commissioned ship afloat in the world! US aboard, we got to take a tour.

Lexington and Concord

Boston's Red Sox baseball game.

Whitney, Josh, Scottie, and ME. Our good friends the Cutlers let us stay with them while we were in Boston! They were the best hosts ever. Thanks guys.
Stop 5: Palmyra, NY and Niagara Falls.

Hill Cumorah visitor center (top). The Smith family farm house (below).

Seeing the church sites in Palmyra was a really great experience! There is such a special spirit there. We especially loved the sacred grove. While Scottie and I were there we thought about how neat our trip had been and how we started out with the worldly stuff (NYC), then went to the historical stuff (Boston) and saw how the world was prepared for the restoration of the church....and finally we ended with the spiritual stuff. Going to Palmyra was a neat way to end our trip and left me feeling so grateful to be a member of the Lord's true church.

Niagara Falls
