Valentine's Day

It was my year to plan Valentine's Day, and I must say Scottie got spoiled. I did the 14 days til Valentines for him, and each day he got a random gift/surprise in a secrete location. The best part was that I would sing a little sing to him once he found his clue and gift. It sounded something like..."On the 10th day of Valentine's your true love gave to you _______. Anyways I loved doing it for him, and appreciated how excited he was each day! He said his favorites were the homemade cinnamon rolls and the hidden ice cream in the freezer.

Me taking a picture of myself with the beautiful flowers Scottie gave me at work for Valentine's Day...Cheesy but so great!

This year for dinner Scottie asked if we could stay home. I agreed but decided I would do something extra special....So I planned and executed a surprise 3 course fondue meal. I was super proud of the way it turned out!

Some of our favorite things on the menu were: garlic cheese bread, marinated steak and chicken, pizza strips, rice crispy treats, bananas, and oreos. We had lots of other dipping essentials and used a cheese and chocolate sauce.

Some of our desserts. We were so stuffed by the end of dinner!

Valentine's presents!!!

One of my favorite gifts Scottie gave me was our OHIO Wall. He developed and put some of our favorite OHIO pictures in frames. He was so creative and wrapped a card telling me to go upstairs in the office, and this is what I found!!! LOVE IT
Happy Valentine's Day! I feel so blessed I get to share the rest of my Valentine's with my Scottie Jay and Best Friend.

February Fun

It's hard for me to believe February is almost over! I sure have been busy which means I have been a bad blogger, so here is my attempt to get caught up.
Hosting Steph's Baby Shower- Here is the cute invite:) just love it!

I was able to host a baby shower for my dear friend Stephanie! She has been a rock in my life and has been a perfect example to me during some hard times. I know she will be an excellent mother and I am so excited it's finally her turn!

Some of the decorations...

Some of the party goers-we played games, ate delicious food, and opened some adorable gifts.

Lots of yummy food...thanks to many helpers!

A day off of work= equals lunch with some girl friends. We went to Pei Wei and loved it:)

Turkey dinner feast- I bought two turkeys this year since they were only 19 cents a lb...so I had to get rid of one and thought the best way to do it would be to have a dinner party with some friends.

Kimberly, Steph, and Me

Scottie and Me with my homemade apple pie...it was yummy:)
Still to come Valentine's Day, Grandma's funeral, and Spring Break. So stay tuned!!!

Snow DAY!!! Or should I say ICE Evening

I just found out my evening classes were cancelled due to an ice storm. I am overjoyed...like when I was 5 years old and would go ballistic when I would find out I didn't have to go to school because it was a snow day!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can enjoy the night with my cute hubby instead of being in class until 10pm!
Thank you crazy OHIO weather:)
Any good weather stories you want to share?

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

WOW! It is crazy for me to believe that Christmas has already come and gone! It honestly seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating last years Christmas. Don't worry though I will live in the present and tell you about this year's Christmas:)
This year we spent Christmas with my family in Washington and had a really great time. The only sad part was when it was over.
We got to participate in all the holiday traditions, eat at lots of yummy restaurants and make good food of our own, go fishing, go to the temple, see old friends, and spend time together as a family (lots of Ticket to Ride). I wasn't the best photographer this year. I guess I was having too much fun living in the moment, and forgot I have to take pictures to remember those moments. Anyways I hope you enjoy the pictures that I did take!

Hansen Family Tradition of lining up on the stairs before we could go in the living room and open presents.
Our Christmas Stockings! We must have been good this year because Santa was good to us:)
Me on Santa's, I mean Papa's lap
Mom with her annual calendar I made.
I surprised Scottie with some of "his" teams stuff, I also got him a Jazz hat!
Me and my Little Bro- I had to put a picture of us together because this will be his last Christmas home for 2 years (he will be leaving on a mission soon)
A group shot, not a good one, but the closest one I have to getting all of us in the picture.
A highlight of my trip home was getting to see my childhood friend Kari. We went to breakfast together and had a much needed chat! I love you girl:)
Having some fun as a family during our ping-pong tournament.

The best part of the trip home was probably getting to go to the temple as a family. It was so neat to be there all at the same time. The kids all did baptisms together and it was a really great experience. After we went to Outback Steakhouse and had some fun!

Best group pic from dinner...see what I mean I wasn't very diligent about pictures.

Being home with my family was the best Christmas gift I could have ever asked for. As I get older and OLDER I am realizing I don't care about the presents, I care more about being with those I love the most. I also love this time of the year because it helps me to reflect and think about my Savior. I am so grateful that he is the reason for the season. Every time I write Christmas I want to underline the Christ part. I pray that with this New Year we will all be able to strengthen our relationship with him.
Love you all and best wishes for 2011!

Thanksgiving Fun

Our Thanksgiving fun started out this year with Scottie and I joining some friends for an OHIO State tradition. We (along with thousands of buckeye fans) jumped into Mirror Lake during beat Michigan week! It was crazy cold, but sooooooooooooo fun and so worth it!
Pre-jump!!! Diving in... ya right!

Right before we took the plunge! Remember it's COLD, No FREEZING outside...like not even 30 degrees cold (which means the lake was almost frozen!)
Jump #1

Some of the other dedicated fans there!

We were the most dedicated though because we jumped in not once, but TWICE!

Our 2nd jump...yes we were crazy enough to do it again! We even did the O-H-I-O pose:)

Post Jump-still smiling:)

BOY oh Boy are we PROUD to be BUCKEYES!!!
Then we were off to Michigan (ironic huh?) to celebrate Thanksgiving with my sister and her adorable family. (don't worry we made it back to C-bus for the Michigan game)We had a nice time catching up, playing with the kids, loving the new baby, and spending Thanksgiving together.

Group Photo!

The boys greeted us at the door once we got into town and then quickly wanted to show us their Halloween costumes! Too cute.

Making Jack's Under the Sea Jello- the boys wanted to join in and help once I started calling it green monster jello.

The Happy Thanksgiving Dinner Guests. Thanks Hendersons for having us all over!

Here's the new baby. EMMY!

Decorating the kids tree:)

Me and my Jordie goofying around (top). Scottie and I getting ready to go camp out at Target (bottom).
We were crazy and did some black Friday shopping...we camped out at Target all night so we could get their killer door buster deal on a flat screen TV!
I am thankful for this Holiday Season and especially for the reason for the season. Love you all and I am so thankful to have you in my life.
